Painted while Alexander was living in Paris, this piece leans fully into the sensuous, linear style he was known for. The curve of the subject's pose and the sweep of the composition echo the Art Nouveau movement that was taking hold across Europe at the time, the same style featured heavily at the 1900 Paris Exposition. It's part of why Alexander earned the nickname "the painter of the flowing line," both at home in America and abroad.

What's the canvas print made from?

Will the print fade over time?
The sublimation printing is fade-proof by design, and holds up well under normal indoor light. Direct, constant sunlight will fade any print eventually, so we'd still avoid a spot that gets full sun all day.
How do I hang it?
Each canvas comes on a wooden frame, ready to hang. A single wall hook or nail through the back of the frame is usually enough.
How do I clean it?
A dry, soft cloth or a duster is enough for regular dust. Avoid water or cleaning sprays directly on the print.
Will the colors match what I see on my screen?
Screens vary a little from device to device, so there can be small differences, but we print from high-resolution source files to keep colors as close as possible to the original artwork.
Is this a real reproduction of the original artwork?
