Our Story

We started Loom of Thirds because we couldn't find a t-shirt we actually wanted to wear.

Loom of Thirds is run by Purna and Sid, two people who bonded over graphic design, good fabric, and a shared allergy to anything "on-trend".

The name is two halves of the same idea. Loom is the weave, the fabric, the part that has to be right before anyone even looks at the design. Thirds comes from the Rule of Thirds, the compositional principle painters and photographers have used for centuries to make an image feel balanced.

Everything you see starts as a hand-drawn sketch by our in-house artist, or gets pulled from public domain art we've actually researched, not scraped off a stock site.

We don't use AI-generated graphics, full stop.

When a piece is based on an older, existing work, we credit the artist and the period it came from on the product page, with links if you want to see more.

Most of what we make leans into things a lot of streetwear won't touch: tarot, old folklore, weird fiction, the kind of internet humor that doesn't survive being explained.

Welcome to a gallery you can wear!

Everything's made-to-order out of Kolkata, one drop at a time. If any of this sounds like your kind of shirt, we made it for you.
